Method

AI writes a great deal of the code. It decides none of the product.

Cangaroo builds with AI engineering agents directed by people. The method is ordinary engineering discipline applied to an unusual amount of throughput.

Human in the loop

Direction is the scarce input.

Agents produce work quickly. They do not know which work is worth producing, and they do not know when the answer is wrong in a way that only a fabricator would notice.

Specification stays human

Domain rules — how a mitre is priced, what a shop calls a waterfall end, which tolerance matters — come from people who asked people. Never from an agent's best guess.

Review is not optional

Every change is read by an engineer before it reaches the production system. Volume does not buy an exemption from review.

Small team, wide surface

The leverage is real: a platform of Kervio's depth, built and operated by a team this size. The leverage comes from direction, not from magic.

Verification gates

Ground truth, not plausible output.

An agent's failure mode is confident, well-formatted, wrong. Every gate exists to catch exactly that.

Checked against real jobs

Pricing, layouts and cut logic are validated against actual quotes and actual jobs from working shops — not against synthetic examples.

Automated tests before merge

Behaviour is pinned by tests. A change that alters a number has to say why it altered it.

Production is a source of truth

Kervio runs live and multi-tenant. What the system does in the field feeds back into what gets built next.

Fabricators as reviewers

Working fabricators tell us where the model of their trade is wrong. That feedback outranks any internal opinion.

Why vertical

Depth beats breadth in a trade.

A horizontal tool can do a little of everything for everyone, and increasingly anyone can build one. What it cannot do is know that this material chips on an internal corner, that this shop charges differently for a 40mm mitre, or that a plan drawn in metres has to be quoted in millimetres.

That knowledge is the product. It only comes from time on the workshop floor, and it is the part that does not fall out of a general model. So we go narrow, and we go all the way to the cut.
